Privacy policy

ARRILERT does not collect personal data. Your location is used on your iPhone only while a journey you started is running, and it is never sent to us or to anyone else.

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy covers the ARRILERT app for iPhone, published by LyteFast, and this website, arrilert.com.

At a glance

  • There is no account, no ARRILERT server, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no crash-reporting service. ARRILERT contains no third-party SDKs.
  • Your location is processed on your iPhone, only while a journey you started is running, to estimate your progress and decide when to notify you. ARRILERT never sends it anywhere.
  • Finished journeys keep only the Evidence Ledger — the decisions, without any position — for the period you choose, and you can delete them at any time.
  • Place search and maps are provided by Apple (MapKit and Apple Maps), under Apple's privacy policy.
  • This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other websites.

What stays on your iPhone

ARRILERT stores the following only on your iPhone. None of it is sent to us.

DataWhereHow long
The journey in progress: your plan, its stage, your 40 most recent locations at most, its Evidence Ledger and the notices sent App files, protected by iOS data protection and excluded from iCloud and computer backups Deleted when the journey ends
Finished journeys: the plan and the Evidence Ledger, with every location removed App files, protected by iOS data protection and excluded from backups Your choice in Settings & privacy → Journey history: deleted when the journey ends, 1 day, 7 days (default) or 30 days. You can delete one journey or all of them at any time.
The Evidence Ledger: each decision with its reason, confidence, the kinds of input used, the age of the data, thresholds and your answers — no coordinates Inside the journey above As for the journey
Recent destinations: up to 8 places you chose (name and coordinates) App settings Until you clear them (Settings & privacy → Clear recent destinations) or delete the app
Preferences: default Exit Contract, notice level, history period, VoiceOver announcements, the result of your last notice test App settings Until you change them or delete the app
Rehearsal Lab sessions Memory only Never saved

App settings — your preferences and recent destinations — may be included in your iPhone's iCloud or computer backup, which stays under your control. Deleting the app removes all its data from your iPhone.

The Evidence Ledger leaves your iPhone only if you tap Export and choose where to share it. The export is plain text and contains no map positions.

Location

  • ARRILERT asks for location access While Using the App when you start your first journey. It never asks for Always access.
  • Location is used only while a journey you started is running — also with the screen locked, which iOS shows with the location indicator — to check your direction, tell you when to get ready and notice a missed stop.
  • It stops when you tap End journey or I got off, or after 6 hours.
  • ARRILERT does not use motion, Bluetooth, the microphone, contacts, health data or the advertising identifier, and does not track you across apps or websites.

You can change or withdraw location access at any time in iOS Settings. The Rehearsal Lab works without it.

Notifications

Notices are created on your iPhone and scheduled with iOS as local notifications; nothing passes through a server. For a real journey, ARRILERT also asks iOS to show a reminder if you come within about 800 m of your destination, as a safeguard. iOS checks that area on your iPhone, and the reminder is removed when the journey ends.

What leaves your iPhone

ARRILERT itself makes no network requests. Two Apple services that you use from the app connect to Apple:

  • Place search and maps (Apple MapKit): when you search for a destination or view a map, your search text and the map area are sent to Apple to return results and map images.
  • Apple Maps: if you ask for a route back after a missed stop, Apple Maps opens with your destination.

Apple processes this data under its own privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may also send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics; this is your choice in iOS, not something ARRILERT asks for.

Purchases

ARRILERT Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. LyteFast receives no payment details and no purchase history linked to you, only Apple's aggregated sales reports. The app checks whether your subscription is active with Apple's StoreKit on your iPhone; nothing about it is sent to us. You manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings; Apple's privacy policy applies to the purchase.

This website

arrilert.com is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, contains no forms and loads no scripts, fonts or images from other websites. It is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical connection data — such as your IP address, the page requested, the time and your browser's user agent — to deliver the pages and protect the service against abuse. We do not collect data about visitors ourselves.

When you contact us

If you write to us, we process your email address, your message and anything you attach, only to answer you and handle any follow-up. We keep the conversation for as long as that takes. Messages to support@arrilert.com are received by Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to our mailbox.

Data on your iPhone is processed by the app, under your control, to provide the features you use; we never receive it. Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, delivering this website relies on our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and answering your messages relies on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries or, when you ask us to do something for you, on steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Recipients: Apple, for the MapKit and Apple Maps features you use and for the App Store purchase of ARRILERT Pro; Cloudflare, which hosts this website and forwards the messages you send to support@arrilert.com. These providers may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in their own privacy policies.

Your rights

Where data protection law gives you these rights, you can ask us for access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restrict or object to its processing, and ask for a copy in a portable format. Because ARRILERT sends us nothing, we hold no data about how you use the app; requests will usually concern messages you sent us. The data on your iPhone is under your control: see how to delete it.

You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr) — or with the authority where you live.

ARRILERT collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If ARRILERT ever processes data differently — for example if a network feature is added — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top of this page will change.
